Nowhere Stare
Nowhere Stare

A gathering of faces drifting and floating; where are they going, what are they doing?
Primarily depicting strange figures adrift and detached from their environments, Nowhere Stare is an exhibition of drawings by Miriam Joan Montgomery, also incorporating elements of painting, collage and installation.
The work takes inspiration from the many anonymous faces of the city full of unknown thoughts. These figures, wandering in space seemingly unaware of why they are there, aim to provoke a sense of the fleeting nature of dreams and memories, creating a sense of mystery, uncertainty and isolation.
